TERRITORIOS AFECTADOS

La sierra de Camarolos-Las Cabras (CS5) afecta a las poblaciones de Antequera, Colmenar, Alfarnatejo, Alfarnate, Villanueva del Rosario y Villanueva del Trabuco. El Plan Especial de Protección del Medio Físico de Málaga establece esta zona geográfica como protegida por su elevado interés ambiental y cualquier modificación del mismo supondría un fuerte impacto visual y ambiental. Además, este Plan recoge como característico de nuestro clima la falta de agua en la época estival lo que conlleva cortes en el suministro y grandes restricciones en el uso de nuestro recursos hídricos.

En el tomo 2 página 117 del Atlas Hidrogeológico de la Provincia de Málaga se puede observar como el nacimiento del río Cerezo, conocido como nacimiento del Chorro, situado en término municipal de Villanueva del Rosario, la fuente de los 100 caños sita en Villanueva del Trabuco y el sondeo denominado como “fuente del Enebro” situado en término municipal de Antequera y del que se pretende extraer el agua para la embotelladora, pertenecen a la misma bolsa de agua, por lo que extraer agua de uno u otro punto afecta directamente a toda la masa de agua almacenada en la sierra.

The Sierra de Camarolos-Las Cabras mountain range (protected area code CS5) straddles areas in the municipalities of Antequera, Colmenar, Alfarnatejo, Alfarnate, Villanueva del Rosario and Villanueva del Trabuco. The Plan for the Protection of Environmental Spaces in Malaga specifically declares this area as a protected space due to its great environmental value, so any disruption to it would entail a significant visual and environmental impact. The aforementioned Plan also makes a specific mention of the lack of water in the summer as a defining feature of our climate, and one that causes water supply cuts and severe restrictions to the use of the available hydrological resources.

On volume 2, page 117 of the Hydrogeological Atlas of the Province of Malaga, we can see the source of the Cerezo river (better known as “El Chorro”) in Villanueva del Rosario, the 100 Spouts fountain in Villanueva del Trabuco and the drilling project known as “Fuente del Enebro” in the municipality of Antequera, from which the water for the bottling plant will be extracted. All three correspond to the same body of water, so drawing water from any of them will directly affect all the other areas of the body of water stored deep underground from the Sierra de Camarolos mountains.
